- A single watermark embedded by TV channels or Radio stations can be used to measure the audience of TV, Radio, Catchup TV and Podcast but also for the synchronization of the 2nd screen applications.

The SNAP technology
Civolution has released the 3rd generation of its audio watermarking technology called SNAP [SyncNow Audience and Portable measurement].
SNAP has been designed to meet measurement requirements for Radio and TV broadcasters using either portable or fixed audience meters, but allowing to also deploy second screen applications.
The new SNAP technology maintains imperceptibility properties designed for the radio audience measurement application which has already been approved by radio stations and deployed by more than 200 TV channels in Europe.
This audio watermarking technology offers incredible speed detection of less than one second. It also provides unique features like overmarking capabilities, i.e. a watermark X can be erased and replaced by a watermark Y. This overmarking can be performed up to 3 three times (this is specifically useful to avoid transfer of audience when a TV channel is airing a content that was initially broadcast by another TV channel).
Cross-platform Audience Measurement & Synchronization
The SNAP technology offers a means to perform cross-platform audience measurement on fixed and mobile devices via a single panel enabling to build new services and reduce of operating costs.
In parallel, the same SNAP watermark can be used by broadcasters to synchronize their own interactive application with content with a great accuracy.

Axon Modular Solution Overview
Based on the Axon (http://www.axon.tv) Synapse solution (http://www.axon.tv/Synapse), Axon has developed watermarking boards for AES and SDI interfaces. Synapse is a modular system containing multiple 19” frames, active hot swappable cards and (mostly) passive connector panels. It is designed to support demanding mission- critical applications in the broadcast industry.
Civolution and Axon jointly developed two dedicated boards for the Civolution audio -watermarking embedding in SDI or AES streams.
HD SDI Axon Embedder
The Axon SDI embedder is able to disembed the audio channels, watermark them and re-embed the audio channels keeping the video and audio synchronized. The watermark information being a critical though imperceptible information, it is crucial to monitor proper operation of the embedding process with an automated tool.As watermarks are innately imperceptible, it is important to create automated tools to monitor the embedding process. Watermarking Solutions for Non Linear Content
File Embedder Suite
The file embedder suite is made of two2 pieces of software:, the file embedder and the QC quality control file detector.
The file embedder a simple command lineWorking from a simple command line,. T the file embedder is able to watermarks the original audio-video file directly in place, in order to avoiding multiple copies of the audio-video files. The suite is also capable of or is able to generatinge a watermarked copy of the audio-video file.
The Civolution’s watermarking technology is also integrated into a Rhozet Promedia Carbon plug-in to enable. The the watermarking of an audio-video file process can be done during the transcoding process of an audio-video file. Watermarking Detection Solutions
Civolution provides a software library running on various platforms and to be integrated in an audience measurement meter. This library is available for:
- Windows or Linux platforms;,
- Android and IOS platforms both for ARM and x86 processor families.
This product is a Windows PC software that can be used by the technical staff in a radio or TV television head- end or for the setup of a meter. This piece of software listens to the audio coming from the soundcard of the PC and displays both the detected channel identifier and the timestamp.
This application is also available on iIOS and Android platforms.
